Nina Kiel is a games journalist and game developer from Düsseldorf, Germany. After graduating from the University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf and publishing her Bachelor thesis „Gender In Games – Geschlechtsspezifische Rollenbilder in zeitgenössischen Action-Adventures“ in 2014, she continued her research on body image, gender roles and sexuality in digital games. Her texts were published by Zeit Online, Grimme Online and fluter.de among others as well as in several magazines and newspapers such as taz – die tageszeitung, Politik & Kultur, GamesMarkt and M!Games. As a speaker, she’s a regular guest at conferences, gaming events and barcamps. She also works as an editor for Germany’s most popular gaming podcast, The Pod.
