Natalie Denk studied educational science at the University of Vienna, Game Studies at the Danube University Krems and graduated from the College for Multimedia at “die Graphische” in Vienna. Her research focuses on Game Based Learning, Educational Game Design as well as age and gender aspects in relation to digital games. From 2011 to 2014 she worked for ABZ*austria in the field of gender and media education. Since June 2010, she has been a game reviewer at the Austrian Federal Office for Positive Rating of Computer and Console Games. Since August 2014, Natalie Denk has been working as a senior researcher at the Center for Applied Game Studies at the Danube University Krems. In the past years she has been involved in several national and international research projects around Game Studies as well as in the teaching of the Center’s Master’s courses. Since July 2019 she is active as head of the center. Furthermore, she works with the Viennese company PICAPIPE GmbH on the project „League of Girls“, a platform and initiative for the promotion of women in esports.
