Dr. Martin Hennig studied Literature and Media Studies, Psychology and Education at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel. Since 2010 he has been a scientific coworker in the area of Media and Cultural Studies. He completed his doctorate in 2015 with the thesis “Spielräume als Weltentwürfe. Kultursemiotik des Videospiels” (Marburg: Schüren 2017), which received the dissertation prize of the University of Passau. From 2016 Martin Hennig worked as a postdoc at the DFG Research Training Group 1681/2 “Privacy and Digitalization”. He currently substitutes the Chair of Media and Cultural Studies with a focus on “Digital Cultures” in Passau. Main areas of work: Game Studies, Cultural and Media Semiotics, Film and Television Analysis, Theories of Space.
