Sébastien Genvo is a professor at the University of Lorraine, his research focus on understanding video games as cultural and artistic expression. Author of numerous publications on the subject, he defended the first thesis in France on video games (2006).
Game designer at Ubi Soft in 2001-2002, he also pursues a game design activity as part of his research. He explores the issue of sharing individual difficulties and sensitive subjects through games. He is also the founder of the Expressive Gamelab, a platform that focuses on analysing what makes video games a form of expression.
