Kathia von Roth (she/they) is a traveling artist, lecturer and researcher, born in Hamburg, Germany. She is lecturing in different fields of study and travelling to conferences, social centers and self governed gatherings to field research habits, spacial design and collective practices of post-competitive societies.
In her artistic practice, she is creating temporary utopian zones and empowering experience realms in form of participatory architecture, social/virtual/organizational interfaces, transdisciplinary software and language prototyping, performance and gaming theatre. In her lecturing she is giving insights in practice and theory of activating environments, aiming to teach a practice of wholesome, human-centered design in-the-making and share concrete tools to a next generation of world creating minds.
Currently she is mainly working and researching with ‘Die Spieleberatung’, a collective she co-founded in 2015 together with Miko Hucko, Torben Spieker and Sarah Klöfer and as a Research Associate with Prof. Dr. Christian Faubel in the degree program Code & Context, Cologne Institute for Digital Ecosystems at TH Cologne.
