Klaus Gasteier was born in Limburg an der Lahn, completed an engineering degree at the BUGH Wuppertal and studied as a postgraduate Audiovisual Media at the Academy of Media Arts, Cologne (KHM). He was co-founder of the Cologne design agency cutup codes GmbH in the 90s. From 2002-2008 he was professor for interactive media/interaction design in the visual communication program at the Design faculty of the University of Applied Sciences in Aachen. Since 2008 he is currently Professor of New Media at the Faculty of Design in the Communication in Social and Economic Contexts program at the Academy of the Arts, UdK Berlin. He has been organizing and giving several seminars and modules on the topic of conceptual game development and ludic strategies.
