Keynote: The Utopia of Small Video Games

Is there such a thing as an authentic video game? In this talk, I will provide a critical examination of how independent games are often promoted as authentic alternatives to a corrupt mainstream. Are independent video games genuine alternatives to big-budget and casual games, or is independence an illusion?
