Federico Alvarez
Federico Alvarez Igarzábal completed his PhD thesis at the Department of Media Studies and Theater of the University of Cologne and the Cologne Game Lab of the TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences in 2018. The project, entitled “Time and Space in Video Games,” analyzes the temporal structures of video games with a combination of formal analysis and cognitive-scientific theories of time perception. Previously he studied Audiovisual Communications and Visual Arts in Córdoba, Argentina. He has worked as a researcher and teacher at different institutions, including the University of Cologne and the Cologne Game Lab, where he is currently employed.
