Angela Tillmann
Prof. Dr. Angela Tillmann studied educational science at the University of Bielefeld. She established one oft the first online communities supervised by media-educationalists, the so called “Schulen ans Netz e. V.” association, a joint initiative by the Federal Republic of Germany together with Deutsche Telekom AG. From 2001 to 2006 she worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Education at the TU Dresden. In 2006 she received her PhD in Philosophy at the TU Dresden, titled: „Informal Learning on the Internet – Spaces of Identity in an Online Community“. From 2006 to 2009 she worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Social Education, Social Work and Community Welfare at the TU Dresden and from 2008 to 2009 as a research assistant at the training project „eCampus“ at the University of Applied Sciences Dresden. In 2009 she was appointed as a Professor for Cultural and Media Pedagogy, at TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences. Currently she is the director of the research centre “Media Worlds” and leading the “Institute of Play-Spaces – Media Pedagogy in Digital Gaming Culture“ at the Institute of Media Research and Media Pedagogy at TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences. In 2015 she was appointed to the commission of the “15th Youth Report” of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ). Further more, Angela Tillmann is a board member of the “German Association for Media Education and Communication Culture” (GMK) and representing the GMK in the Board of the “German Foundation for Digital Gaming Culture”. Since 2010 she supports, in addition, the Board of Trustees of the German Centre for Youth and Children’s Films (KJF).
